About the course
This comprehensive course covers the valves used on subsea manifolds, subsea isolation valves (SSIVs), high-integrity pressure protection systems (HIPPS) and emergency shutdown valves (ESDVs). Through lectures, photo and video presentations, case studies and workshops, it explains the fundamental issues behind the robust, safe and economical selection of subsea valves and actuators, from concept to detailed design.
The principal codes include ASME VIII Divisions 1 and 2, ISO 10423 (API 6A) for wellheads and Xmas trees, ISO 13628-4 (API 17D) for subsea wellheads, ISO 14313 (API 6D), ISO 14723 (API 6DSS) and ISO 15156 (NACE MR0175). The associated recommended practices DNV-RP-F112, on duplex stainless steel under cathodic protection, and DNV-RP-B401, on cathodic protection design, are also covered.
