Training course

Onshore Pipeline Engineering

Design, construction and operation of cross-country oil and gas pipelines to ASME B31.4 and B31.8, from route selection and hydraulics to cathodic protection, pre-commissioning and integrity.

Duration
3 days
Outline
14 modules
On completion
Certificate from Z-Subsea Energies

About the course

This comprehensive course gives an overview of onshore pipeline engineering through lectures, photo and video presentations, case studies and workshops. It concentrates on the fundamental issues behind a robust, safe and economical onshore pipeline system, from conceptual and detailed design through to construction, operation and maintenance.

The principal codes are ASME B31.4 for liquid pipelines and ASME B31.8 for gas transmission and distribution piping, together with PD 8010-1 Steel pipelines on land, API RP 1102 Steel Pipelines Crossing Railroads and Highways, API Standard 1104 Welding of Pipelines and Related Facilities and other relevant codes and practices.

What you will learn

The steps in engineering and designing an onshore pipeline system, from route selection to pre-commissioning and operation

The key topics in onshore pipeline engineering
