Subsea Pipelines Design
Robust, economical pipeline design to PD 8010, DNV, ASME and other recognised standards, including HPHT systems.
Z-Subsea Energies provides a highly competent team to deliver robust, economically viable pipeline designs that meet your project requirements, to PD 8010, DNV, ASME and other industry-recognised standards.
At FEED, wall thickness is set by hoop stress from differential pressure, collapse under external pressure and buckle propagation. High-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) pipelines need more: high compressive axial forces can approach yield, and start-up and shutdown cycles cause significant girth-weld fatigue, so both must be addressed early.
HPHT systems often rely on HIPPS for over-pressure protection, creating a fortified zone that depends on valve closure time. Where protection upstream or isolation downstream could fail on demand, we use probabilistic design against loss of containment, and assess accidental and seismic loads with reliability and probability-of-failure analysis.
