Ship–Jacket Impact Analysis
Dynamic finite element analysis of ship collisions with offshore jacket platforms.
A ship–jacket collision analysis assesses the consequences of a vessel striking an offshore platform. Both the jacket and the ship are modelled in finite element software, and dynamic analysis is used to reach a converged solution. The damage to the platform is reported with contour plots.
What’s included
Structural damage to the platform or vessel
Collision energy dissipation
Collision force time histories
Beam and shell jacket models with explicit or implicit dynamics
Damage and dent results as contour plots
