Training course

Subsea Pipeline Free Span Assessment

Designing pipelines against free spans and assessing spans found on pipelines in service, to DNV-RP-F105: VIV and direct wave fatigue, screening, ULS checks and finite element assessment.

Duration
3 days
Outline
16 modules
On completion
Certificate from Z-Subsea Energies

About the course

This comprehensive course covers the free span assessment of rigid subsea pipelines through lectures, case studies and workshops. It explains the fundamental issues behind designing a robust, safe and economical pipeline against free spans, and behind evaluating the spans found by survey on pipelines already in service, from conceptual to detailed design.

The principal code is DNV-RP-F105 Free Spanning Pipelines, supplemented by DNV-RP-C203 Fatigue Design of Offshore Steel Structures, DNV-RP-C205 Environmental Conditions and Environmental Loads, DNV-OS-F101 Submarine Pipeline Systems (now DNV-ST-F101) and PD 8010-2 for subsea pipelines.

What you will learn

The steps in engineering and designing free-spanning pipelines, for new and existing pipelines
