Subsea Pipeline Engineering

From field layout and route selection to installation, pre-commissioning and integrity management: a complete grounding in the design of safe, robust and economical subsea pipeline systems.

Duration
3 or 5 days
Outline
21 modules
On completion
Certificate from Z-Subsea Energies

About the course

This comprehensive course gives engineers an overview of subsea pipeline engineering, from conceptual and detailed design through to installation and pre-commissioning. It combines lectures, photo and video presentations, case studies and workshops, and concentrates on the fundamental issues behind a robust, safe and economical subsea pipeline system.

The principal code is DNV-OS-F101 Submarine Pipeline Systems (now DNV-ST-F101), together with the DNV recommended practices DNV-RP-F105, DNV-RP-F109, DNV-RP-F110 and DNV-RP-F112. Alternative codes such as ASME, API and PD 8010 are covered for comparison.

The course runs over three or five days. The five-day programme below adds dedicated sessions on flow assurance, flange connections, component design, hydrogen-induced stress cracking (HISC), design to API RP 1111 and pipeline crossings, with more workshops throughout.
